Who is responsible
Alexandra Petrova is the data controller for this crew board. For privacy questions, access requests or deletion requests, email Alex.petrova.uk@gmail.com.
Information we collect
We collect your account email, name, required WhatsApp number, sailing experience and qualifications, optional profile photo, posts, private messages, notification status, privacy acknowledgement date and policy version. We also record successful sign-ins and board activity for administration and security. Never include sensitive information about yourself or others in posts or messages.
Why we use it
We use these details to operate your account, connect skippers and crew, provide private conversations and expected message alerts, and protect the board. Our proposed lawful bases are performance of the service you request and legitimate interests in running and securing a member board. Acknowledging this notice is not marketing consent. Optional photos can be removed from your profile at any time.
Who can see your information
Post content is public, so do not put phone numbers or other private details in post titles or descriptions. Profile contact details and photos are restricted to signed-in members viewing a poster or a participant in an authorised conversation, and the administrator. Private messages are accessible only to the initiating member, post owner and authorised administrator. Account emails and sign-in/activity records are accessible to the administrator, not other members. Short-lived photo links can be shared by someone who has access.
Services and transfers
Lovable Cloud provides hosting, account services, data storage and photo storage. Google processes sign-in information if you choose Google sign-in. Opening WhatsApp takes you to a separate service governed by its own privacy terms. Google Fonts is used to load fonts and may receive your IP address. Message emails, once configured, are handled by Lovable’s managed email service. Providers may process data outside the UK or EEA; the controller must confirm appropriate contractual safeguards and transfer arrangements.
Retention and security
Profile information is kept while your account is active; posts and messages remain until deleted or handled through a deletion request. Sign-in and activity records are retained for administration and security. There is currently no automatic retention schedule; the controller will assess requests and retain data only as necessary, including any legal obligations and backup limitations. Access controls protect private messages, contact information and photos; no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability where applicable, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can edit your profile and remove your photo. Contact Alexandra Petrova for other requests or to stop using the board and request account deletion. We aim to respond within one month, subject to lawful extensions and identity verification. You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies and device storage
The board uses browser storage to maintain your sign-in session and essential service state. This acknowledgement does not authorise advertising or non-essential tracking. Any future non-essential tracking needs a separate consent choice.
Notice status
This notice describes the current service. The controller must review lawful bases, provider contracts, international transfers and a proportionate retention schedule before treating it as a complete GDPR compliance programme. Material changes will be reflected in a new policy version.
